Find Earth Day Events In NC

RALEIGH, N.C. – Local governments, state agencies, schools and environmental education centers across North Carolina are planning a record number of Earth Day events. Earth Day is recognized as April 22, but there are many opportunities to celebrate the environment during the last weeks of April.

A wide variety of fun, family-oriented events are planned that incorporate music, games and outdoor recreation and fitness activities. These events are a great way to enjoy the outdoors while also learning about ways to improve our environment.

The N.C. Office of Environmental Education is promoting Earth Day programs and events statewide in April on its Web site, www.eenorthcarolina.org. People can see all the environmental education activities in the state through an online calendar and can search the Web site for events near their home. In addition, teachers and other educators interested in Earth Day-themed lessons can search for environmental education resources to use in the classroom tailored to different ages and subjects.
